Parkhurst Developments Limited is a private corporation which was established in 1997 with a vision to develop property into serviced residential lots. The first setting chosen was a tract of land just minutes from the town of Antigonish wherby the developer subdivided fourteen lots in quiet country setting while still allowing owners close proximity to all the amenities the Town of Antigonish has to offer. The principal of the Corporation is Dr. Mary Hurst, who for the past 29 years owned a thriving dental practice. This practice was most recently sold, however, she still maintains a dental practice in the Town of Guysborough and continues to be an active staff member of St. Martha's Regional Hospital where she carries out surgical and restorative procedures. The Name of the development (Parkhurst) was derived from the park like setting of the property and the owner's last name.
Phase one which consisted of fourteen lots opened in 1997 and proved to be very successful as is evidenced by photos of some of the residences built there (photos available for your perusal on this website). Phase Two(A) which will be ready for occupancy in December, 2003, has eighteen serviced lots. A number of these lots border a beautiful rolling farm field which will ensure no development for years to come.
